J Cru is a well-built, versatile gelding with a solid foundation and plenty of grit! He stands quietly for mounting (with or without a block), crosses water with ease, and handles various tying situations cross ties, hot ties, and hard ties. He loads, hauls, clips, and stands well for the farrier. He’s an easy keeper and does well turned out alone or in a group. Currently shod on the front and barefoot behind. This past fall, J Cru was successfully shown in Country Pleasure, earning Reserve Champion at the South Carolina State Championship. He has been started on a canter but isn’t fully finished with his leads yet. J Cru is also an experienced trail horse. He’s been ridden on the New River and Big South Fork and will climb anything you ask of him! He’s got plenty of heart and will take on a challenge with confidence. I’d consider him best suited for an intermediate rider, as he will test what he can get away with when introduced to someone new. He does crib, but I’m told that when turned out on grass, he doesn’t. He primarily cribs when in a stall or dry lot. If you’re looking for a gritty, versatile horse with both show and trail experience, J Cru is worth a look!
