Meet Nightshade, a beautiful 8 year old Registered American Gaited Horse gelding standing at 14’3hh. Nightshades, beautiful conformation, long flowing mane, ground-dragging tail, and crow black color are guaranteed to make him stand out in a crowd. He is not only personable and affectionate, he has an incredible amount of training and experience under his belt. This exceptional 8 year old gelding has been trail ridden all across Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia, by both novice and experienced riders as young as 5 years old. Nightshade is ready to take on the toughest of trails and water or the easiest of rides. He does well in any order of groups; leading the pack, in the middle or the back. He has an incredibly smooth gait and lope. His smart, sensible, patient, and respectful nature makes him a pleasure to have around, both on the ground and in the saddle. Nightshade has no issue riding bareback or double if needed. He stands quietly for grooming, saddling and bathing. He’s no stranger to highway traffic as well. He is always careful, sure-footed, and steady while taking his time maneuvering through tough trails. Nightshade is always aware of his feet and never stumbles. He will walk along on a loose rein and get along anywhere in the group. He will cross water, travel through the mud, and carefully work his way over down timber without hesitation. Nightshade has been ridden alongside four-lane highways and is great with all kinds of traffic. He has been desensitized and pays no mind to bicycles, wildlife, flags, bullwhips, wagons, gun-fire, or machinery. Nightshade is also handy to have on the farm. You can open and close gates from his back, and he has experience checking cattle.
