Sir Jazz, affectionately called Crew, is a 2012 bay-registered TWH gelding. The crew is a true gentleman with both young and old people. He will stand patiently to be saddled, bridled, bathed, mounted, dismounted, and rode. He is a gentle-natured horse who is patient around my two-year-old granddaughter and our dogs on the trail. He has been used to pony her horse while we ride, has been used to pack her, and has had no issues with that. He is a solid, reliable trail-riding companion and is respectful on the ground. He readily loads and unloads alone or with other horses and will stop and back on command. Traffic is not an issue for him either. I would say Crew is husband broke, wife broke, and novice broke. I want to mention that Crew has extensions in his tail due to being pastured out with a yearling who chewed on his tail.
He stands at 16.1 and will stretch out for mounting when asked. It is easy to mount on the trail as he will also stand beside a mounting block, tree, stump, gravel pile, etc. He willingly picks up his feet to be shod, bathed, and cleaned before riding or to put boots on.
Being a TWH Crew smoothly transitions from a relaxed walk to his gait. I am an inexperienced gaited horse owner, but his trainer, my trainer, and two very experienced TWH breeders have told me he is one of the most naturally gaited horses they have ridden.
Crew has an intelligent, easy disposition, good confirmation, and a beautiful bay color with light roan in the summer. He rides out easily alone or in a group setting. Crew will navigate water and steep terrain, including crossing downed trees, with ease. To say that I have not found one flaw with Crew would be an understatement.
