Maize
Maize is a gorgeous 11 year old 17 hand shire mare! She has been in our family since last spring. We have used her all over since then! We’ve rode English, western, trails, and bareback!
With Maize being so tall we have taught her to pick you up from wherever you are with ques! She will pick you up at the mounting block, fence, or anywhere else you can think of! She will wait patiently for you to get on, and she will always wait for you to ask her to step forward.
Maize has been trail rode all over the Midwest this year. She is safe on the trails. She has gone through water, by vehicles, rode around all the farm animals and dogs, and has rode perfect with and without others. We even let pigeons loose off of her back for the bird dogs!
Maize has smooth gaits and easy transitions. She stays light in your hands and knows basic leg cues. She has been ridden English and western and has even popped over some little jumps.
This big girl has the best personality. Most people think she is a gelding. She has zero marish habits. She is always happy to see you at the gate and easy to halter. She stands quietly ground tied or tied for grooming, bathing, and saddling.
