Further information

The horse breed called Paint Horse is represented by the 'American Paint Horse Association'(APHA) in Texas. However, it is basically not an autonomous breed, but rather spotted Quarter Horses. The reason for this is that the Paint Horse has the same pedigree and origin as the American Quarter ... More about the horse breed Paint Horse

Hooter is a 9 year old sorrel tobiano gelding that stands 14.3HH.
Not only is this stunning gelding easy to look at, he’s even more fun to ride. And yes, he is STOUT! Used on a large cattle operation in central Texas, this guy has been ridden many of miles and seen plenty of sights. He is fantastic on the trails, crossing water, rough terrain, bridges, and more. He has been exposed to wildlife, dogs, tarps, flags and ponied off of a 4-wheeler as well. Hooter is sure footed and can ride in a group or out alone on the trails. He has been roped on outside in the pasture, but does not have a ton of speed. He would be great for someone with a hobby ranch or small operation just needing a solid mount to gather, doctor, and sort on. Hooter has a common ranch horse handle in the arena. He knows his leads, collects on the bridle, backs up, side passes and pivots on his haunches. Hooter could easily transition into a head or steer tripping horse. He also has the buttons to be competitive in the ranch trail or extreme cowboy obstacle challenges. You can open and close gates, drag objects and cross obstacles with him. We have hauled him to ropings and he is fine with the loud speakers and commotion.
Back at the barn, Hooter is very simple and easy. He stands for the farrier and is currently wearing regular shoes, but does not require them. He stands to be groomed, bathed, blanketed and tacked up. Hooter does not have a huge personality but is always up for a day of work or trail ride. He has great ground manners, picks up all of his feet and is very respectful of your space. He will sometimes snort at something but has never set-back, and stands tied, etc. He loads right up on the trailer and backs off. He is UTD on everything and is an easy keeper. Buyers are more than welcome to do their own PPE, X-rays, as well as try him at our place in Lufkin, Texas. Please reach out to Bailey with any questions, (330) 243-5233. We can help arrange shipping absolutely anywhere!
