Cochise is a very gentle 5 year old draft cross standing just shy of 15 hands. This is a strong and thick built gelding that is safe for anyone to ride. Just like a puppy dog, Cochise is a social, friendly, in your pocket type of horse, yet stays respectful and patient. He will ride double, ride out alone, or in a group. He’d make an amazing lesson horse for any one of all ages and sizes. He has a nice and easy handle on him and is finished the way you want them to be. He has a great stop and one hand neck rein, and will walk, trot, and lope circles in the arena with complete ease. You can ride him with or without spurs, ride bridleless, spin, take the correct leads, and side pass. You won’t have to worry about getting off to open and close gates, because he will move right off your legs to get where you want to be!
He has been used to pack on, gather calves, and pony other horses. Any job we throw his way he always handles it like a gentleman. He has been on many overnight camping trips, trail rides, and parades, and handles all of the commotion, crowds, flags, and equipment like a professional. Cochise will cross whatever you choose to point him to including logs, ditches, water, steep hills, bridges, mud, and brush. He definitely trail rides like a champ and is very easy to get along with. He will even step over to you at the mounting block, gate, or log, making it real handy in those tough situations where it can be hard to get on! He stands excellent for the farrier, to be bathed, and tacked up. He’s content in a stall or pasture, will walk up and greet you with his big gentle eyes. He gets along well with other horses, trailers wonderful, 100% sound and has zero maintenance. Don’t miss out on this guy that is such a joy to be around.
