“Gumbo” is an extremely versatile, been there and done that, all-around type of gelding with a long list of credentials and life experience on his resume. Everything from being a solid using horse to a dependable trail riding partner and even the rodeo scene, this horse has done it all. He is handy broke with a good neck rein, moves easily off your leg, has a good stop and back up, lopes good circles and takes both leads. Gumbo has seen the sights of big ranches and put in many days of work gathering cattle in rough country, trailing the herd to new pastures, sorting pairs, doctoring yearlings and branding calves. You can ride him up, down, over or across just about anything you can think of. He is surefooted in steep and rocky terrain, crosses deadfall, water, bridges and ditches without hesitation and is the same horse whether you ride him out alone or with a group. Gumbo is also an experienced heel horse that scores good and is quiet in the box, is started in the breakaway and has also been around the barrels and poles. He has excellent barn manners, is easy to catch, gets along while turned out with the other horses and is tidy in a stall. Sound, sweet, easy keeper and requires only hay and water to thrive.
