Been there and done that! Monte is a twelve year old AQHA gelding that is just as comfortable crossing mountain streams as he is navigating a complicated arena pattern. Bay roan and gorgeous — he is the most handsome horse in the herd—wherever he goes!
Monte has been the go-to mount for my adventurous, hard working friend that loves to ride America’s big country with family and friends. He has carried her safely in the highest elevations of Idaho, Yellowstone, the Tetons in Wyoming, the Black Hills of South Dakota, and the rugged Buffalo River region in Arkansas. He is the rock solid veteran that goes where he is pointed; Rushing rapids, deep water, steep rocky inclines, slippery straight down slopes that make you hold your breath all to the bottom… Monte locks in his four wheel drive and moves safe and steady. Monte is happy to lead the group. He is just as content to tag along in the back, allowing his rider to visit and enjoy a cold one from the saddle bags.
Monte has spent equal time in the arena at regional horse shows and AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse Shows. He has been very competitive in ranch riding and ranch trail. Monte usually wins the conformation class. He is also a fun horse to ride in the Boxing and is confident working cattle. Monte is qualified for the 2025 VRH World Show in Amarillo.
Monte comes from solid, old ranch bloodlines in the AQHA. True to his heritage, he stands 15.2 hands, with good dark feet and big bone. He grows a ton of mane and tail and has a strong top line and wither that keeps your saddle in the middle. Monte is only being offered for sale so his owner may dedicate her time to her younger horse.
